Greyhound George - Blues & Slide Guitar

Born Jürgen Schildmann in Bielefeld, Germany in 1961, George learned to play the blues in his teenage years by watching and taking tips from bluesmen like Big Joe Williams, Champion Jack Dupree or Louisiana Red, who came to play in his hometown. Since then he has played many different styles of music in many different bands, but he always has returned to the blues. Today he sings and plays electric guitar with the BasicBluesBand
In his solo performances, he plays the blues in the tradition of the old solo country bluesmen, mixing old pieces from the Mississippi Delta with own songs, Ragtime and sometimes country or rock music. He mostly plays fingerstyle slide guitar on his wood dobro while he lays the beat down on a little bassdrum.
